For people seeking a new way to navigate urban living in Dubai, Yango Maps offers a real time way to ride: providing a door-to-door experience in one of the world's most complex metropolis’s. Map services allow us to cruise many environments but finding live updates on urban services, entrance points, and internal building directions is something that's been lacking. We put the user at the centre of the experience and surfaced key USPs through a visual language based on maps, but with a dynamic twist.

Navigating urban environments brings many challenges—especially in an evolving metropolis such as Dubai. With new roads, buildings and landmarks appearing almost daily, capturing urban life in real time is not a luxury but a necessity. Yango Maps enters the navigation app market with an offering that includes true-to-life depictions of Dubai, with roads, buildings and underground crossings. Users can follow routes of 3,000km worth of Dubai roadscape that've been mapped out in the highest detail—reflecting lane markings, multi-level interchanges, tunnels, traffic lights and parking spots.

In collaboration with the Yango Maps internal team, we built a dynamic design system laying the foundations for them to build an effective above-the-line brand launch campaign. This system was based around the principle of realising someone’s ideal journey in real time. Drawing on first person perspective cues and ‘real world indicators’ the new identity creates a bold, disruptive tone in the navigation app market—with dual language Arabic and English messaging switching, interchanging and interacting. Together it creates a system that feels ‘live’, liberated and fit for the ever-changing urban environment.
