We came to How&How with a loose brief and one clear ask: don't make us look like every other AI company. They got it right away. The strategy phase pushed our thinking in ways we needed, and the design work ended up somewhere we wouldn't have gotten to on our own. Couldn't be happier with where we landed.

Generative AI is rapidly replacing the suite of tools designers have relied on for years. But the one thing it’s struggling to grasp? Quality. And in a new era of design defined more by ideas than technical execution, that’s what Ideogram is determined to deliver.

The age of AI is here. And while there are zero questions about that, there are plenty surrounding the slop it’s spitting out. Homogenized generative platforms have flooded the world with the same unoriginal output, six-fingered renders and textless templates. But what about people who want, and need to strive for something greater?

Despite barriers to entry never being lower, Ideogram raises standards higher and higher. Defending world-class design to the death, its superior photorealism, prompt fidelity and clear-crystal type provide a worthy sparring partner, not a sub-par substitute. A platform built to honour judgement and taste, which frees creatives to refine their thoughts as instinctively as they come up with them. 

We created an identity to flourish in this era of ideas. Purposefully designed for those who care about the difference, not the generalized masses.

At the core-tex of the brand, Ideogram’s logo honors one thing that makes a considerable difference: the brain. A confident reminder humans are still in control, the sophisticated and highly stylised mark reflects the high levels of craft designers can achieve—while the negative ‘I’ subtly positions Ideogram at the centre of their thinking. 

Around it, art direction emerges, and morphs, and evaporates in a constant state of iteration. AI generated, and refined using the archaic Photoshop, every image captures the platform’s ability to pluck ideas out of thin air. Never chasing perfection, but embracing the process that leads to it.

A voice built on the principles of great design—alignment, balance and contrast—inputted into an LLM that safeguards high standards. Typography that feels like the words have just come to it. Iconography that’s expressive at 16x16px scale to motion that guides people through the process until they’ve got exactly what they need.
