Cat studied at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London—where she topped a First with distinction in Communication Design. She has worked as an arts journalist and design critic for The Guardian, The Observer, Metro and the BBC; and as a graphic designer in agencies around the world. Alongside designing, Cat founded and sold an e-Commerce business as well as a coworking company alongside her husband, Rog How. They co-founded branding agency, How&How, in summer 2020. The agency has offices in London and LA.
Cat was a Creative Business columnist for Computer Arts Magazine; and has spoken on design, entrepreneurship and creativity at Web Summit, UCLA, Collision, WEDF, World Economic Forum (Davos), All Flows Festival, Brand New Conference, Central Saint Martins and the London College of Communication. She has Judged the Design Week and ADC*E Awards; and is a branding mentor for Women in Tech as well as D&AD Shift. Cat has set up a pro-bono climate-tech rebrand initiative called GetSet; as well as a female leadership mentorship program called GetEven; and continues to work as a brand advisor for for several cleantech and conservation companies around the world.
With a background in engineering, Rog originally worked in radio production for national and international stations in both the UK and Australia. He moved into marketing and audio branding at the BBC, and for 10 years led the stakeholder management and radio production of campaigns such as the Royal Wedding, the London Olympics and the General Election.
Alongside his media marketing roles, Rog founded and sold an e-Commerce business as well as a coworking company alongside his wife, Cat How, before co-founding How&How in spring 2020.
Rog is a branding mentor for incubator programs in Lisbon; has spoken and chaired panels at conferences around the world including Web Summit, LA Tech Week, Hotsauce NYC and UCLA; and regularly hosts and speaks at events around Europe and the U.S.
